Welcome to Prime Asphalt! Our company provides a wide array of paving services throughout the entire state of Texas. Asphalt paving is among the most-requested. Whether your paving need involves a driveway, the floor of a pole barn, a parking lot, a tennis court, or anything in-between, Prime Asphalt's expertise in the paving industry remains unsurpassed.
Prime Asphalt is particular about the quality of the materials we use for your project. We only use the highest-quality components for our clients. Additionally, Prime Asphalt employs the strictest of standards during preparation and installation to ensure the finished product is of the highest caliber.
Asphalt is a classic go-to product for any type of paving or road construction need. This material has an excellent reputation for repelling water, flexibility, and extreme durability regardless of punishing traffic flow and merciless weather extremes. Our Materials and Processes
Prime Asphalt will meet any and every paving need:
Below, is a brief overview of our asphalt-related services:
Hot Mix Asphalt Concrete (HMAC)
HMAC is produced by mixing a heated asphalt binder to an aggregate at high and controlled temperatures. The paving and compacting is performed while the asphalt is sufficiently hot. Due to temperature variances in different parts of the country, paving may be restricted to summer months, only.
Asphalt Patching and Repair
Proper maintenance of asphalt is important, and patching is performed when the air and ground temperatures are above freezing. We will spot patch for a temporary remedy for potholes or other areas of concern. We will also repair street cuts from utility work.
All work is performed 'turnkey' and includes saw cutting, if needed, as well as removal and disposal. Saw cut removal and replacement is the most effective repair when asphalt surfaces have been neglected and water infiltration has crept in, compromising the sub-grade material. Though saw cut repairs cost a bit more, the end result means significant savings in the long run!
Chip seal is a less expensive alternative to black top or concrete. It relates to asphalt in that liquid asphalt (or hot bitumen) is distributed over existing pavement, or compacted road base, with rock being evenly spread over the area, then rolled, impacted and sealed.
As part of regular maintenance, cracks in asphalt should be filled annually. Prime Asphalt uses either hot rubber or cold-pour crack filler. Filling cracks as a preventative measure ensures that the base or sub-base will not weaken and lose structural support.
The importance of applying a seal coat as part of pavement protection and maintenance is vital. If left untreated, asphalt will naturally deteriorate quickly.
Seal coat will inhibit any deterioration when applied on a regular basis. Generally, paved surfaces should be sealed every 2 to 3 years to provide optimal protection from traffic and the elements. Also, seal coat works best when applied when air and pavement temperatures are at least 49 degrees Fahrenheit (and rising) for 4 consecutive hours.
Our top-of-the-line equipment allows for minimal downtime; and a seal-coat will give your pavement the look of new asphalt, while being very affordable!
Emulsifier Sealer/Rejuvenator will breathe new life into asphalt by penetrating the pavement and supplying necessary oils that have, since, been lost due to oxidation and normal use. Oil-based coatings will cure quickly and rebind the aggregate. In the end, pavement is optimally shielded from water and sunlight, and a rich, black coloration adds appealing aesthetics. Oil-based Gilsonite can be added in any temperature as long as the surface is dry.
Not everyone prefers black pavement which is why Prime Asphalt offers specialty coatings in 13 earth-tone colors. Whether it is your driveway, a parking lot, a walkway, golf-cart paths, an amusement park or a tennis court, specialty coatings add new life and eye-catching beauty to any paved area.
Grading and Excavation
With Prime Asphalt, you work with only one contractor which makes the entire process seamless and simple. When we install a road base for a new driveway, finish grading on new construction or clean-up and level after asphalt paving, our clients can be assured the job will get done right!
If you require the services of applying gravel on a roadway, having a road cut out, excavating for utilities or fixing drainage issues, Prime Asphalt is only a phone call away.
Recycled or Green Materials
Because Prime Asphalt desires to minimize its footprint on the environment, we offer recycled asphalt – or RAP. RAP is used extensively throughout the entire US. It is the single most used recycled product in America and is made from previously-used pavement that has been crushed and still possesses some of the original bituminous asphalt.
If dust is an on-going issue where you own your home or business, RAP can be installed anywhere – from rural roads to oil fields – as a tight, super-tough, maintenance-free solution allowing annoying and harmful dust to become a thing of the past.
Striping adds the 'finishing touch' to specific pavement that is either freshly paved, seal coated, saw cut or patched. The usual application for striping is parking lots. Prime Asphalt's attention to detail will ensure the completed work is pristine and attention-grabbing. Our quality Sherwin Williams marking paints offer the quality and durability you would demand and expect.
